Project Description

Laura Aiken is a Work Process and Strategy Engineer with Corporate Engineering and Technology in Houston, where she develops and supports data centric work processes and people strategies to drive performance, technical excellence, and culture in Bechtel Engineering.

Originally from the UK, she joined Bechtel in London in 2011 after graduating from the University of Bath with a Masters of Chemical Engineering, and has worked across engineering, commissioning, and startup for gas processing and liquefied natural gas projects in London, Houston and Australia.

Alongside her work for Bechtel, Laura is the Global Vice-President of Women@Bechtel; Bechtel’s Business Resource Group for women.  Laura is passionate about empowering women and girls with the tools they need to navigate the challenges often faced in STEM fields. Laura is also a trained yoga teacher, and leads retreats that focus on using the benefits of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness to help people lead successful and purposeful lives.

Laura is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas, is a Chartered Chemical Engineer (CEng). She is a Professional Member of the Society of Women Engineers, the National Society of Black Engineers, and a Chartered member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers.
