LISA FENTON

Director, Mission Assurance
Land and Avionics C4ISR Division Northrop Grumman Mission Systems

Lisa Fenton is director of Mission Assurance for the Land and Avionics C4ISR division of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems sector. The division serves global customers with advanced sensors; aircraft survivability equipment;

cockpits; avionics, targeting, communications and intelligence systems; multispectral electronic warfare systems; air defense capabilities, and global mission solutions.

Fenton is responsible for mission assurance across the division for all program portfolios, including quality and product assurance, compliance, program and process excellence, and supplier mission assurance.

Prior to her current position, Fenton was the director of Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM) Programs with business responsibility for the Domestic IRCM programs portfolio including the Directional Infrared Countermeasures, Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures and the company’s GuardianTM Counter Man- Portable Air Defense Systems Podded platform offering.

Fenton joined the company as a supply chain program manager in 2011 responsible for the IRCM portfolio program subcontract requirements in support of various government programs. In 2012, she was named programs director of the IRCM Product Line Management Organization before being selected as the director of IRCM Programs.

Before joining Northrop Grumman, Fenton held a variety of management positions including managing director at United Airlines, headquartered in Chicago, where she led teams focused on the Continental- United Airline transition, domestic airport operations, onboarding solutions and carrier jet negotiations.

Previously, Fenton worked in commercial industries at Motorola Inc. She began as a systems engineer and later served as a global engineering operations director in the global Cellular Infrastructure group with a focus on base station development, director of the global packet core product design centers, and corporate director of procurement category management of semiconductors, original engineering manufacturer telecom equipment and software services for all sectors of Motorola Inc.

Fenton earned a bachelor’s degree from the DeVry University-Keller Graduate School of Management and a master’s certification in project management from George Washington University.
Additionally, she completed various executive leadership training programs at Motorola, United and most recently Northrop Grumman. Fenton was selected to participate as a Corporate Program Management Council protégé and was selected for the Next-Level Leadership Cohort program in 2013.

Fenton served as the Women in Networking Success employee resource group’s executive sponsor for the Rolling Meadows, Illinois, campus for multiple years. She mentors professionals who have been displaced from the workforce and participated on the University of Illinois parent-student advisory group.
