A social entrepreneur dedicated to maximizing the potential of young people, especially those in low-income environments, Nina Zolt’s diverse career has spanned more than 25 years as a media executive, digital product designer, entertainment lawyer and entrepreneur working at the intersection of education and technology.  She is currently co-founder, co-chair, and Chief Content Officer of Cricket Media, a global K-12 learning company that provides award-winning content and collaborative learning opportunities for children, families and teachers around the world.

 

Prior to co-founding Cricket Media, Zolt founded and served as chief learning officer of In2Books, where she led development of a research-tested 21st century skills eMentoring program that has received numerous awards, including the CODIE Award for Best Reading/English Instructional Solution.

 

Zolt has an A.B. from the University of Pennsylvania, a J.D. from Boston University School of Law, and honorary doctorates from National-Louis University (2004) and from Bryant College (2012). In 2007, Boston University School of Law awarded Zolt its Silver Shingle Award for distinguished service to the community and in 2014, it awarded Zolt its Alumni Public Service Award.

 

Zolt served as a member of the Washington D.C. Advisory Board of Directors for Teach for America, the Board of Trustees of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and the Advisory Board for the International Literacy Association. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
